Civil Advocacy
At Serino & Nocon LLP, we believe the civil justice system should be used to protect people who have been harmed, ignored, or wronged by those in positions of power. While we handle a broad range of plaintiff-side civil litigation matters, we are particularly committed to cases that carry a deeper human impact — cases that seek accountability, expose misconduct, and create meaningful change for individuals and communities.
Our firm represents individuals and families in complex civil matters involving negligence, institutional wrongdoing, catastrophic injury, environmental harm, and civil rights violations. We approach every case with the understanding that behind every lawsuit is a person whose life has been altered and who deserves to be heard.
Recently, our firm represented an autistic nine-year-old child who was unlawfully detained, handcuffed, and interrogated for hours by school administrators and law enforcement without the presence of his parents and without any advisement of his rights. The case raised serious concerns regarding the treatment of vulnerable children, abuse of authority, and the failure of institutions charged with protecting students. We also currently represent individuals who sustained respiratory and other injuries arising from the fire at a biosolids facility in Hinkley. These cases involve allegations of significant environmental exposure and ongoing impacts to the health and well-being of surrounding residents.
At our core, we are lawyers dedicated to advocating for people — particularly when the odds are stacked against them. Whether confronting large corporations, public entities, schools, or insurers, we are committed to pursuing justice with compassion, integrity, and relentless advocacy.
